I love the Dentist...

Ok...that was a sarcastic title, but I want to just rant a little here. Our family has been playing catch up on the dental visits...tons of fun and money :-) But yesterday I got a little irritated because I took my son for a consult with the surgeon because he was referred by the general dentist. The surgeon spent about 5 minutes looking into his mouth and then said he needed braces and should be seeing an orthodontist, not him. So we go to the counter to checkout and make the ortho appointment and they charge us $80 for the consult. I complained to no avail...it seems like our general dentist should pay the $80! I considered refusing to pay, but then my family would be refused service and that wouldn't be good. Of course there's the additional frustration in my mind of how much are braces going to cost me???
